This video is to
introduce you – briefly – to the wide range of applications we deal
with in antenna engineering, and to show how simulation is a
fundamentally important tool that supports the whole antenna development
process, from initial concept to certification for release to market.
Understanding the effect of the antennain its environment, as part of a device, is
essential if we want to design “good” antennas. Simply coming up with a
patch or PIFA or horn design does not get you to your goal, of as
efficiently as possible converting guided energy to radiating energy. You have to design for the context of the antenna.
With our tools we have a comprehensive set of solutions for various aspects of network design in an industrial environment. We are dealing with large complex dynamic scenarios, but also need to consider the details to make sure we’re getting relevant results. This is a substantially multi-scale problem, which is why therange of solvers we have – T, F, I, A – gives engineers options at all stagesof the design and analysis process.
And of course engineers dont work inisolation. We are given specifications, we have product and factory designers providing us with physical products
and environments into which we have to integrate communications
infrastructure. We have to communicate our results, as quickly and
effectively as possible. And thus using simulation inthe context of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform provides great potential for doing our job more effectively.
